The Bible speaks of God being in complete control of the political affairs of the earth.
"He changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings" (Daniel 2:21). "This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men" (Daniel 4:17).
This Thursday (23rd June) is the EU referendum. As Christadelphians we will not be voting. Why? Well we look for a coming political Kingdom to be established in the future. This will occur when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth. We do not know how God will use the referendum in His great purpose and so live as "strangers and pilgrims" accepting any outcome. We do not wish to frustrate God's will and submit completely to His authority.
As the proverbs say:"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).
